Health and Safety
A ‘Customer First’ and ‘Safety First’ culture is ingrained throughout our business and our aim is to set industry standards when it comes to being innovative, adding value, providing excellent customer service and ensuring Health and Safety at all times.
Health and Safety are of paramount importance at A-Plant. Every item in our hire fleet is continually tested, maintained and serviced in accordance with our Health and Safety Policy. In addition, our staff receive stringent training on an ongoing basis and we have introduced a number of initiatives to enhance safety within the construction industry, and ultimately assist with the reduction of on-site accidents.
We are the first national rental company in Europe to have achieved dual certification to both the ISO 14001:2004 standard and OHSAS 18001:2007 specification covering Environmental, and Health and Safety procedures.
By having our integrated Environmental, and Health and Safety (EHS) risk management systems independently assessed by the BSI, and approved for IS0 14001 and OHSAS 18001 accreditation, our customers can have complete confidence that we are a supplier that can offer approved management of Environmental, and Health and Safety risks in every aspect of our business.

RoSPA Gold Winners
A-Plant is a eight-time winner of the RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety. The awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) recognise continuous improvement in accident and ill-health prevention at work. In order to be considered for an award, A-Plant’s overarching occupational health and safety management systems were put under rigorous scrutiny by RoSPA, which means that customers can rest assured that A-Plant is well and truly setting the safety standard.
At A-Plant we believe safety should always be the number one priority, no matter what role someone has; if everyone works safe, everyone goes go home safe.
To help promote this message across all of A-Plant’s Divisions we promote a Work Safe Home Safe message with five golden rules for everyone to think about:
- Before you start work, be aware of any potential risks
- Stop work if it can’t be done safely
- If safe to do so, intervene if the actions of others might be unsafe - don`t walk by
- Maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment
- Always wear the appropriate PPE
