Installation Instructions for the A-Plant Point of Interest Files

The instructions below are based on installing the A-Plant point of interest files onto a standard TomTom GO. If you have a different device, please consult the manufacturers instructions for further information.

Step 1. Download the two files listed below.

Save these files on your computer in a place where you can easily find them again, e.g. on your Desktop or in "My Documents". Unzip the contents of aplant.zip before proceeding to step 2.

Step 2. Connect your TomTom device to your PC.

Connect your TomTom device to your PC using the cables provided with your device. Ensure that your TomTom device is powered using the AC adapter during the installation. Your TomTom device should now be visible in "My Computer". Please refer to your manufacturers instructions if you experience any problems.

Step 3. Copy the Point Of Interest files from your PC to your TomTom device.

Go to the directory on the local hard drive of your PC where you stored or downloaded the POI database files (.ov2 and the .bmp file). Please note: the .bmp file is contained in the .zip folder which you should have un-zipped in Step 1. Select and copy the .ov2 and .bmp files.

Step 4. Paste the POI files to your TomTom GO.

Open your TomTom device and locate the map directory. Open the map directory and paste the two POI files into this folder. When the POI files are successfully copied to this folder, you are ready to use your new POI's on your TomTom device.

Step 5. Display POI's on your TomTom GO.

Finally, enable POI's on your TomTom device and select them in your POI categories. All A-Plant depots will now be displayed on your screen in both 3D maps and 2D maps. (Even if you choose not to display POI's on screen, you can now "navigate to" your POI's, find POI's near your location etc.
