A-Plant Lux Traffic Control & Management is helping to keep London and the UK moving during the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The company has supplied over 80 Portable Variable Message Signs (VMS) to display directional and parking advice to motorists to keep traffic moving around the Olympic venues, ensure public safety and minimise impact on the local communities.
The A-Plant Lux Variable Message Signs, manufactured by PWS, are being used around various Inner London venues, including the Olympic Park, Wembley Stadium and Lord’s Cricket Ground, as well as Out of London venues such as Brand’s Hatch, Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and Manchester’s Old Trafford Stadium. Transport forms a critical part of the successful operation of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Jim McLachlan, Business Development Director for A-Plant Lux said: “We are delighted to play a key role in the transport operations of the Games. We were awarded this prestigious contract as we could supply brand new VMS signs across the length and breadth of the UK, so we are providing equipment in keeping with a world staged event. Messages on the signs can be remotely updated within minutes as they operate using the latest LED and Solar Technology from an intuitive web-based programme.”
