A-Plant Places £4Million+ Portable Power Order With Doosan

A-Plant has vastly enhanced its fleet of Portable Air Compressors and Generators by placing an order with Doosan for almost 500 machines valued at over £4 million. This is the largest single order that A-Plant has ever placed with Doosan and the new machines are currently being delivered to A-Plant Service Centres throughout the UK.

Portable Air Compressors and Generators

The investment with Doosan forms part of a major capital expenditure programme for A-Plant to enhance its hire fleet. Fleet investment exceeded £150 million in 2014 and it is anticipated that similar figures will be reached this year.

The order covers a wide range of Doosan equipment, including Compressors which supply compressed air from 260 - 400cfm (would be better if it said, “ from 70  to over 400 cfm), as well as singleand two-tool Compressor Generators. The order also comprises two types of innovative Stage IIIB compliant Portable Air Compressors - the 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 models. Both models have a brand new ‘Dual Mode’ feature which provides a ‘two-in-one’ solution.

Replacing the need to choose between different models, as used to happen in the past, the 7/73-10/53 and 7/125-10/110 models offer much more operational flexibility from the same machine, as pressure and flow outputs can be selected simply by pushing a button on the keypad, meaning the operator can instantly switch between low pressure and high pressure.

The two models also feature a newly redesigned control panel, whereby switches have been replaced by an eight-button keypad that allows the operator to start and stop the machine, select high or low pressure mode and scroll through the MidPort. The MidPort is a state-of-the-art interactive digital display integrated in the tachometer, allowing access to the machine diagnostics.

A-Plant’s Director of Purchasing and Fleet Management, Andrew Winlow said: “Doosan has been a long-standing supplier to A-Plant for many years and we have invested in these new Stage IIIB compliant, state-of-the-art models to offer our customers maximum operational flexibility. We are always mindful that productivity and efficiency are two key drivers for our customers and we have selected models which deliver on both fronts, for example Compressor Generators which allow air tools to be powered at the same time as electrical equipment. Once again, this multi-million pound investment in new equipment confirms that we offer one of the youngest and most innovative fleets in the hire industry.”
