PSS Hire Wins Five Year Framework Agreement with Scottish Water

PSS Hire, the UK and Ireland’s leading utilities and pipeline equipment provider, has secured a five year extension on its Framework Agreement with Scottish Water and the organisation’s supply partners. The new contract runs until 2020 and covers specific equipment hire and services, with PSS Hire supplying a complete range of Specialist Fusion Equipment and associated Tooling Products.

In order to service the contract, PSS Hire has invested over £1.4 million in brand-new state-of-the-art equipment sourced from a number of leading suppliers. The list of equipment purchased includes Electro-Fusion Equipment, Coil Pipe Trailers, Bursting Equipment, Winches, McElroy’s T900 TracStars and 250 DynaMc Butt Fusion Machines.

Scottish Water is the sole provider of drinking water and waste water services in Scotland. With around 5 million customers in almost 2.5 million households, Scottish Water provides 1.3 billion litres of potable water every day and treats 842 million litres of waste water before it is returned to rivers and sea. Scottish Water employs almost 3,400 people across Scotland.

PSS Hire is supplying equipment to Scottish Water from PSS Hire Service Centres in Scotland. The company has recently opened an impressive new 10,000ft2 Service Centre in Bathgate, near Edinburgh, and additional premises are opening soon in Inverness and Aberdeen.
