2017 Annual Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement


This annual Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement provides information to supplement our Modern Slavery and Trafficking policy. In this statement, we set out the steps we have taken during the financial year to ensure that slavery and human trafficking is not taking place in our supply chains, or in any part of our own business. We include details of our activities, supply chains and the actions we have taken and are taking to ensure that modern slavery is not deliberately or inadvertently supported by us.

Statement of Commitment

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business. This policy applies to all persons who act on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels: directors, consultants, contractors, agency workers, and our supply chain.

Our Business and Supply Chain

A-Plant strives to be the best in our industry in everything that we do; this includes ensuring that we provide an equipment rental solution to our customers based upon honesty, integrity and value.

A-Plant operates predominately in the UK with over 168 locations, along with four services centres based in Eire & Germany.

Our supply chain is predominately EU based, however we also procure a small proportion of products from Asia.

The following policies help us to identify and prevent modern slavery in our organisation:

The CEO along with the Operating Board have full responsibility in ensuring that the above policies are enforced within the organisation

Risk Assessment

Within the current year, we have conducted analysis of our supply chain and identified the place of manufacture. We have broken this down by spend and geographical area, thereby focusing on the countries which could potentially have the greatest risk of involvement in Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.

Due Diligence

Our business currently undertakes a pre-qualifying questionnaire within our supply chain, which allows an opportunity for vetting of activities.

Training and Raising Awareness of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Issues

The following training has been provided within our business to staff this year:

1. All procurement staff, along with a number of HR, EHS and Internal Audit team have completed an on-line Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking training via Sustainability School

2. All senior personnel and customer facing sales staff have completed an on-line competing fairly and anti-bribery training, along with a declaration of conflicts of interest

Plan for continual improvement

Going forward it is our intention to;

1. Risk assess each of our suppliers using a detailed questionnaire based upon the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking by products and/or geography

2. From the output of the questionnaire, we may conduct random inspections to report on the working conditions and welfare of factory staff.
