How we're supporting the armed services
Posted on by Julie Woodward
Due to our size and ongoing growth plans, we are constantly on the lookout for good people and, with that in mind, we are targeting ex-armed forces personnel in our recruitment strategy.
It’s an ideal fit – we regularly need engineers, drivers, fitters, hire controllers and customer service staff, as well as myriad other job roles. Former members of the armed forces have valuable skills that are transferable to many of these positions. We offer ongoing training and development, competitive benefits packages and long-term career prospects, as well as the opportunity to work in focused and friendly teams.
To show our commitment to supporting service leavers we have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and, as such, we are now an Armed Forces Covenant Supporter.
We are also working in partnership with British Forces Resettlement Services (BFRS) - a social enterprise created to help the armed forces community with their transition into civilian life. BFRS works with service leavers to provide them with the skills and opportunities they need to successfully resettle after leaving the armed forces.
You can find out more about BFRS at http://www.bfrss.org.uk/
We will be attending six careers events this year, organised by BFRS, in a bid to recruit service leavers. The first of these is on 14th April at Greetham Valley Golf and Conference Centre, Oakham. The second one is on 12th May at Kassam Stadium, Oxford.
