Guide to HAV Safety

According to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), nearly two million people are at risk of getting Hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS). HAVS is caused by vibration transmitted into workers’ hands and arms when using hand-held or hand-guided power tools such as breakers, drills, chainsaws and grinders.

Prolonged exposure can result in permanent disability, but there are simple ways that our customers can eliminate the risk of HAVS. At A-Plant, we are 100% committed to helping reduce the risks workers are exposed to - with product and service solutions that help reduce the risk of HAVS. Many of our tools incur some form of vibration transmitted into the hands of the user, but we are proud to offer some of the hire industry’s lowest vibration equipment currently available. Our range includes equipment which reduces vibration by up to two-thirds compared to conventional tools.

To help you make informed choices, we have produced a new handy sized publication called the Guide to HAV Safety which features details such as Declared Emissions, UncertaintyK of Vibration Emissions and Sound Pressure.
