A-Plant Bolsters Plant Fleet with 400 New Machines
A-Plant has bolstered its already modern hire fleet of plant equipment by investing in 400 new machines manufactured by Terex, Bobcat and Thwaites.
An order worth £1 million has been placed with Terex for the supply of Hydraulic Breakers, Roller Breakers and Trailers. All manufactured at Terex’s facility in Coventry, the new machines have already been delivered to A-Plant Service Centres throughout the UK.
Machines worth almost £0.8 million have also been purchased from Bobcat. The bulk of the order comprises the Bobcat E85 reduced tail swing Tracked Excavator with an operating weight of 8.5 tonnes. A number of Bobcat Tracked Skidsteer Loaders have also been purchased as part of the investment. A-Plant has also placed an order with Thwaites, comprising Site Dumpers with capacities of 1, 3 and 6 tonnes.
A-Plant’s Director of Purchasing and Fleet Management commented: “Once again, this investment is a major enhancement of our plant hire fleet. We are firmly committed to offering our customers the plant they need, when and where they need it. We have dealt with Terex, Bobcat and Thwaites for a number of years and have selected the equipment that is the most advanced in its class and the models that are most heavily utilised by our customers. The new machines are a great addition to our range and will play an important role in several national construction projects over the next few years.”
This forms one of the largest investment programmes ever undertaken by A-Plant. Earlier this year, A-Plant placed a ground-breaking £50+ million order with JCB for more than 1,550 machines, representing the largest ever single order for new equipment in A-Plant’s history.
