A-Plant places £3 Million Kubota Order

In order to meet increasing demand for plant equipment, A-Plant has placed its largest ever single order with Kubota UK for almost 100 Excavators valued at over £3 million. The vast majority of the new Kubota Excavators have already been delivered throughout the A-Plant Service Centre network to fulfil demand from customers.

The Kubota order comprises 0.8 tonne Micro Excavators, 1.5 tonne Mini Excavators and Tracked Excavators ranging from 2.5 tonne up to 8.0 tonne. Included in the order are a number of new machines to the A-Plant fleet, including the 8.0 tonne KX080-4 machine which is powered by a new Stage IIIB/Tier 4 compliant direct injection diesel engine and comprises a host of safety features. It is classed as a Roll Over Protection Structure and a Falling Object Protection Structure.

Other new machines to the A-Plant fleet include the 6.0 tonne U55-4 Light Tail Swing Compact Excavator and the 3.0 tonne U27-4 Zero Tail Swing Compact Excavator, the latter of which is a towable machine. A total of 40 of Kubota’s new 1.5 tonne KX016-4 Mini Excavators have also been purchased. With a wider working range that rivals larger Excavators, the KX016-4 allows enhanced accessibility to road sites and residential areas, making it ideal for utilities contracts.

A-Plant’s Marketing Director Asif Latief said: “This is the largest order we have ever placed with Kubota UK in all our years of trading and it reflects their excellent build quality, innovative features and operator confidence in the machines. In fact, these machines are amongst the fastest moving items we have and, with the new fleet on board, we are even better equipped to meet the needs of all our customers from national accounts to local and regional players.”

All of the new Kubota machines come fully equipped with the Kubota anti-theft system. The one-key system incorporates a high-tech chip which only starts the engine when the system recognises the appropriate key. Only programmed keys will enable the engine to start and even identically shaped keys can’t start the engine unless they are programmed. Attempting to start the engine with an un-programmed key activates the system’s alarm. The Kubota anti-theft system works in conjunction with A-Plant’s A-Trak tracking elements and security system which allows customers to monitor their hired plant online 24/7 through the A-Plant Extranet system.
