A-Plant Raises Funds for Cancer Research UK
Employees from the UK’s largest equipment rental company A-Plant have raised over £7,000 for the firm’s charity partner, Cancer Research UK.
Each year A-Plant employees from the company’s Support Office in Warrington nominate a charity to support and Cancer Research UK was selected as this year’s partner. At the beginning of the year, a £5,000 target was set and by September, over £7,000 has been raised with several events still yet to come.
Fundraising initiatives have included dress down days, cake sales, participating in the JCB 10km Mud Run and two separate charity bike rides - a 60 mile ride from Manchester to Blackpool and a 54 mile ride from London to Brighton. Employees from across A-Plant’s nationwide branch network have taken part in the fundraising efforts and several events have taken place at the company’s support office itself, one of which has been the A-Plant Mini Olympic Games. To celebrate GB’s most successful Games in more than a century, A-Plant staff competed in a series of fun Olympic related challenges over the course of two days.
A-Plant’s Marketing Director Asif Latief said: “Charity fundraising is very close to our hearts and we are delighted to be a registered fundraiser for Cancer Research UK. We are very proud of all of our staff who have worked extremely hard to raise this money, plus we must say a big thank you to many of our suppliers who have made generous donations.”
