A-Plant took home the Silver award for Commitment to Skills and Training, one of eight awards, presented during a glittering awards ceremony in Peterborough last Thursday (21st March).

The annual awards is organised in conjunction with the Plantworx construction show and recognise the very best in the plant hire industry.

To be nominated in the ‘Commitment to Skills and Training’ category, A-Plant had to be able to demonstrate a commitment to investment in training for personnel across all levels of the business, plus the provision of unique training to companies within the sector.

Asif Latief, Marketing Director at A-Plant, said the company is thrilled to have received an award at one of the industry’s most prestigious events.

He said: “We believe A-Plant is truly leading in the industry when it comes to training and developing skills for employees, customers and the wider construction industry, so we were thrilled to be recognised for all of our hard work in this area.

“With a workforce of over 3,600 people, we provide a highly supportive workplace for our colleagues and have carried out 15,000 training days for staff over the last 12 months.

“Our apprenticeship programme is considered one of the most successful and highly valued schemes in construction, and after taking on 80 new apprentices in September 2018 we now have over 150 apprentices on our apprenticeship scheme.

“We are also firmly established as a leading customer training provider, and our professional instructors deliver over 70 training courses from 22 Training Centres of Excellence UK-wide.”

A-Plant was also crowned Access Rental Company of the Year at the International Awards for Powered Access earlier this month.
