Leading formwork, falsework and groundwork hire company Leada Acrow has appointed a new Director to head up the business. Barry Furlong, who has an impressive track record spanning 30 years in the formwork and scaffolding industry, has joined the company and will be responsible for the strategic development of Leada Acrow.
A-Plant has been awarded a top award for its outstanding commitment to supporting apprentices. The company was awarded the Industry Apprentice Employer of the Year (Large Company – Employing over 250 people) award at the prestigious Pride of Construction ceremony, the annual industry prize-giving run by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
A-Plant has completed a strategic acquisition of McCarthy & Stone’s Accommodation fleet. The acquisition which comprises of a range of accommodation units, will be used across the UK and become part of A-Plant’s specialist Accommodation division. The acquisition comes with A-Plant securing a 5-year agreement to supply accommodation units to McCarthy & Stone.
As part of A-Plant’s largest ever web development project, the company has unveiled a brand new website at www.aplant.com. The new platform will be used to power the websites for each of the divisional companies within A-Plant, which are due for a phased launch over the next few months.
FLG Services Develops Innovative New Lifting Solutions for Amey’s highway maintenance contract in North Lanarkshire
FLG Services, the leading specialist in the hire, sales and service of Lifting Equipment, has worked alongside one of its major customers, Amey, to help reduce manual handling risks and enhance efficiencies on work involving kerb-laying and moving heavy columns from horizontal to vertical positions.
A-Plant has continued its significant investment in brand new access equipment by taking delivery of a further 300+ powered access and low level access machines manufactured by Power Towers and Niftylift, the majority of which are specifically designed to offer an environmentally friendly solution to working at height. This latest investment is valued at around £2 million.
To meet market demand and increase national coverage, A-Plant has significantly expanded its operations throughout Scotland. Two of the company’s rapidly expanding businesses, PSS HIRE and FLG Services, have opened a number of locations in Scotland and now offer an expanded product range to customer in Scotland.
